Hilton Hotels Going Big Into Myanmar

Partnering with local company Eden Group, Hilton Hotels will rebrand the Thingaha Garden Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw and Thingaha Ngapali as Hilton properties.  Also, Hilton expects to open Hilton Bagan and Hilton Inle Lake in 2016 followed by Hilton Mandalay in 2017.  The 200-room Thingaha Gardens is presently nearing completion and Thingaha Ngapali a 51-room beach resort in currently undergoing upgrades.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts (formerly Hilton Hotels) was founded in 1919 by Conrad Hilton with their first hotel in Cisco, Texas. By 1943 it had become the first coast-to-coast hotel chain in the United States. Today Hilton owns, operates or franchises 540 hotels in 78 countries on 6 continents. Eden Group is one of Myanmar’s largest conglomerates with interests in tourism, construction, banking, agri-business and the petroleum industry. Eden, founded in 1990, is known for its close links with the Myanmar government.  Hilton going big into Myanmar is a testament to its thriving tourist industry.
